I am so addicted to stamping!  Are you?  Are you constantly thinking about your next creation?  I am so addicted that I dream about stamping my next projects.  This card was first created in my dream last night, sick huh.  🙂   Since I did this in my dream already, when I actually put it on paper this morning it was like I was doing for the second time.

Please tell me I am not the only one that dreams about stamping.   Maybe I need to go to Stamper Anonymous.  I could see it now, we would all be swapping cards and stamps in the parking lot before and after the session, lol.  No wait, I think that is called convention!   ROTFLMAO!!!  I crack myself up sometimes, lol.   Just humor me this morning.  I haven’t had my whole pot of coffee yet. 

Before you think I have completely lost it, let’s get start on the tutorial. . . . .

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Branch Out
Paper: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Baja Breeze & Creamy Caramel
Ink: Stampin’ Up Baja Breeze, Close to Cocoa & Always Artichoke, Distress Inks Old Paper, Milled Lavender, Weathered Wood, Walnut Stain, Brushed Corduroy, Frayed Burlap
Accessories: Stampin’ Up Basic Black Marker, Signo White Gel Pen, Sponges, Clear embossing powder and Heat gun

Stamped the, I’m going to call it the leaf stamp, but it is just a stamp with splotches on it, on a 4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Baja Breeze ink before stamping it.   I had to envision (guess, lol) where the leaves would be on the tree.  I reloaded my stamp with Versamark and Baja Breeze ink and stamped it quite a few times here.

Heat embossed the leaves using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Using the same method I stamped Always artichoke leaves by first loading my stamp with Versamark and then with Always Artichoke ink before stamping it repeatedly.  Heat embossed the leaves using clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Stamped the tree by first loading the stamp with Versamark and then Close to Cocoa ink before stamping it over the leaves.  Heat embossed the tree with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.

Sponged on a bit of Milled Lavender Distress ink.

Sponged on a bit of Weathered Wood Distress ink.

Swiped the edge of the Old Paper Distress ink pad from top to bottom on the card stock.

Sponged Frayed Burlap Distress ink at the top and bottom of the card stock.

Sponged Brushed Corduroy Distress ink at the top and bottom of the card stock, not covering the Frayed Burlap ink entirely.

Ooops, missed a picture.  Sponged Walnut Stain Distress ink all around the edge of the card stock.

Adhered the main image panel to a 4 1/8″ x 5 1/8 piece of Whisper White card stock.

Stamped the leaf stamp with Always Artichoke ink at the bottom of the two panels to simulate vines.

Sponged Baja Breeze ink over the vines.

Stamped the few leaves with Walnut Stain Distress ink over the vines.

Added a White Gel pen highlight down the left side of the tree and a few white gel pen dots in the vines.

Added a Basic Black marker line down the left side of the tree and a few Basic Black dots in the vines.

Sponged Walnut Stain Distress ink around the outside edge of a Creamy Caramel card stock panel.

Assembled my card and here it is finished measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

    You are an early bird this morning! And a cracked up one too! It was very nice to wake up this a.m. and find another stunning tutorial WITH humor. Girl I think you are a morning person like me. We are probably the first in bed but the first to rise! You mentioned you are an addict to stamping, well, welcome to Stampers Annonomous! I search for color combos and scenes in almost everything I see; magazines, mother nature, TV, fashion, etc. I appreciate how you teach us to use a variety of Inks. I feel very comfortable with the Distress Inks but have few colors. I will remedy that shortly!

    Good Morning Michelle. I laughed when I read your comments because I am soooooo addicted to stamping. I associate almost everything I do with stamping. I even think of stampin up colors when shopping!!!! Actually I was thinking that we needed a Stampers Retirement home for us all to look forward to one day!!! Wouldn’t that be fun? Have a wonderful Sunday. Can’t wait to try this card.

    Michelle – I too have dreamed about stamping!! So you ae not alone. I have a card I made a long time ago that I dreamed about that I never gave away and never will. I’ll try to remember to bring it with me when I come to the Adv Brayer class in Dayton in just a few weeks!

    I do not think you are crazy making cards in your mind while you are at sleep. I do it all the time. Does that mean that I am crazy too? Perhaps I have inhaled too much embossingpowder fumes or so…

    I do make a lot of cards both while I am sleeping but also at times when I have to spend weeks in bed I do it while I am awake. I also dance in my head when I am unable to do it for real too. I imagine doing the steps and hearing the music.

    Well..maybe I am crazy.

    Your project today is awsome. It is so beautiful. I absolutely love trees! Visiting your blog is the absolute highlight of my day. Feels like Christmas every time I visit your blogg and see that you have left us another incredible piece of art.

    I guess we really are all alike. All except the creative part of us. For me anyway! I can visual and dream of card designs but when it comes to getting it on paper, it just doesn’t always work for me, as in most of the time it doesn’t work for me. You are amazing with coming up with designs. this one is another really good example. Beautiful.

    I don’t manage to create cards in my sleep, but I often try to design them as I fall asleep as a way to unwind from the day.

    Michelle, your creations just blow me away, each and every time!! I love that there is stamping, embossing, sponging, and direct to paper all in one and it comes out looking like a piece of art! That stamp set always looks so cutesy to me, but you make it look so much more refined…..wonderful!!!

    I have been following your blog for SOOOOOO long but haven’t commented until now but I just had to let you know that you are by no means alone when it comes to stamping being stamped on your brain LOL!
    I swear, as I snuggle down into bed and close my eyes, I am constantly thinking up of new card layouts and stamps I can use! It only becomes a problem when I turn my lamp on and scribble in my notepad my idea as too many times I’ve awoken the next morning knowing I had an amazing idea and forgotten it LOL! This would be fine if I didn’t have a partner next to me who needs to get up early for work too and doesn’t share my stamping passion!
    Anyways enough babbling from me – I’m a HUGE fan of your work so you keep dreaming away of stamping, it provides amazing results!

    Ha Ha…you’re definitely not alone. I go to sleep counting cs, marker and pad colors. Can’t wait to get the latest coupons from stores.
    Run directly to scrapbooking section (tiny as it is) in my supermarket, Target, Walmart, etc.
    Show every card to hubby, dd, friends, anyone who comes to my house.
    Won’t allow any one to print anything on my craftroom printer, as it is only for stamping related stuff.
    Have pads all over the house (and in car and purse) to jot down ideas, sketches, etc.
    And last, but not least, have been accused of getting more thrills from stamping than making love. Pleeezzeee don’t make me tell the truth!! If it helps, I’m 60 :).

    I need a card for the patients in the hospital for next month and a note book for my grand daughter this week and that is what i have been working on while i sleep. I even daydream while i pull weeds in my flowers, now how bad is that! I want to let you know i like the colors you used and how this is layed out. Fantastic as always!

    As long as you keep putting “ink” to paper out of those dreams you’re having, you are making other’s dream comes true as we get to see yet another spectacular post. I’m amazed how you build upon something so simple (the stamped image), and create a scene around it. You do it over and over and over again with the same image and come out with something entirely fresh. I loved all the Distress Inks used here…I now have all the colors – thanks to your inspiration!

    Some say eating before bed makes you dream more, so have a banana split tonight! (LOL) TFS. Joanne

    I thought everyone dreamed their hobbies. I used to dream about clothing designs. One of them was really very funny when I actually produced the garment. In the seventies I dreamed of a great one piece jumpsuit/skort. It looked like a jumper with beautiful deep cuffs on the long sleeves. Seven buttons up each cuff. Then wore it on a trip to Lake Tahoe — discovered my three a.m. mistake when I had to go to the bathroom. Yep, fourteen buttons that had to come undone before —- you get the picture. 🙂 Fortunately, my card designs have not been so foolish. Not as elegant as yours and thank you so much for sharing — I get a lot of inspiration from your cards.

    Oh yes, the real challenge in using some of your ideas is to make them work with the supplies I have on hand. Have not gotten into the Tim Holt inks so try to simulate the appearance with SU products. My absolute favorite is your Patriotic horses. I’ve done a variation on it with the herd of horses from Eequestrian Dream. It really came out well. Have included it several times in my cards for heroes packages.
