I am now able to pool small online orders using a Hostess Code.   This is exciting because I can now do a drawing with the my customers that use the hostess code  and pass the hostess benefits to the winner.  You will order like you always have at my online store,  but enter a hostess code and your order will ship directly to you – within the US only.  When smaller orders are put in together, the larger order qualifies for HOSTESS BENEFITS.  This could be from $25 to the sky is the limited.  Hostess benefits will be determined by the pool of orders received using the hostess code.

Well, Russ and I are back from paradise (Fiji).  As you can see above the sunsets where so very beautiful and I’ve come back inspired.

Yours truly, totally chilling pool side.  Yep, no make up.  I share it all here, lol.  You could literally stay in a lounge chair all day.  The staff took really good care of us.  You could order drinks and food and they would bring it to you pool side.  Haven’t hit the scales yet since my return, but pretty sure it will be ugly, ugly.

This guy was chilling pool side too.  Right by my chair, lol.  He was very quick when the resort staff decided to relocate him to the beach.

These guys where chilling pool side in their own way also.  Lots of action by the pool.

Awesome entertainment!

The scenery was so very beautiful.  It was hard to leave there.

I have literally hundreds of photos from the trip that I need to go through.  Russ and I enjoyed shopping, resting, snorkeling, sailing, white water rafting, swimming, beach combing, pillow gifts each night from Stampin’ Up! etc.  It was fabulous!

A big thank you to Stampin’ Up! for providing the trip free of charge for us and a huge, huge thank you to my customers!  Without you I would not have been able to earn the trip.  You all rock!

Holy Mackerel!  is this really my 600th card tutorial!   Seems like yesterday that I started my blog.   How long have  you all been hanging out here?  Are you still enjoying the cards that I put up?

I’m thinking about changing things a bit.  I’m finding that I’m not getting as much out of my stamp sets as I should.  So, I’m thinking about doing a series on a set weekly.  Example, doing 2 or 3 tutorials using the same set.  Would this also be helpful to you?  I know it will make me stretch creatively, which will some times be painful, lol.   Let me know your feelings by commenting below.  I’ll be using a random number generator to select one of the commenters and give them this Stampin’ Up! Hostess Set, Summer Afternoon.

I’ll do the drawing on Thursday, May 9, 2013.

About today’s card tutorial, I’m leaving for an all expense paid trip to Fiji in a couple of days.  I was able to earn it by being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  Gotta love a job that you can earn income and fabulous trips as well.

Anyhow, my mind is already at the beach so I put it on paper.   Follow along with the tutorial below and let’s go to the beach together!

Now on with today’s tutorial. . . . .  . .

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Road to Happiness (item #126547)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up!  Sponges, mini silver brads, silver gel pen, Stampin’ write makers (Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black), 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ square punches, Brayer and a post it note

Brayered Tempting Turquoise ink at the top of a 3.25″ x 4.5″ piece of Whisper White card stock.

Brayered Crumb Cake ink at the bottom of the card stock.

Masked the top 1/2″ of card stock using a post it note and sponged in the horizon line using Tempting Turquoise ink.

Stamped the card using Real Red ink.

Stamped the beach accessories using Stazon Jet Black ink.

Colored the wheels, windshield and seat back using a Basic Black marker.  Colored the surfboard with a Tempting Turquoise marker.  Colored the Bucket using a Daffodil Delight marker.  Colored the guitar and basket using a Crumb cake marker.  Colored the shovel with a Real Red marker. and colored the headlights and hubcaps using a Silver Gel pen.

Masked the car using a post it note and added a shadowing with Crumb Cake ink.

Added a Real Red panel, Tempting Turquoise panel, Basic Black panel, 4 Basic Black 1 3/8″ square punches and 4 Real Red 1 1/4″ square punches.

Cut a short strip of Basic Black card stock and nipped the end using a square punch so it created a “V” shape at one end.

Added the strip to the card front and added mini silver brads.

Added a strip of Tempting Turquoise down the bottom of the surfboard and a strip of Real Red marker along the bottom of the car to create more dimension.

Here is te finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

New Wood-Mount Cases

Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.

Starting May 31 all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging (sneak peek sets will also be in the new boxes during the preorder). And empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalog. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! New Wood-Mount Cases

Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.

Starting May 31 all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging (sneak peek sets will also be in the new boxes during the preorder). And empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalog. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available May 31). A pack of four half-size cases (3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″) will sell for $4.95 and a pack of four full-size cases (7-1/2″ x 5-1/2″) will be $6.95.

It’s important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so I am thrilled to share Stampin’ Up’s updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as I am by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 Stampin’ Up! did a big color renovation and shared their plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep their colors on trend. Well it has been three years and I am excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! Stampin’ Up! is welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. Check it out, the name of the stamp I used today is “Christmas Deer” from Stampin’ Up!  I tend to forget about stamps in the Spring and Summer that start with the name Christmas.  But some of them make such great cards all year long.  Like this one.

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up!  Christmas Deer (item #128146)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Old Olive and Early Espresso

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Lucky Limeade, Old Olive, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sizzlets Die – Little Leaves, Big Shot Machine

Smeared the Lucky Limeade ink pad directly on the Whisper White card stock using a circular motion.

Stamped the deer using Early Espresso ink.

Smeared the Old Olive ink pad across the bottom of the card stock barly catching the bottom of the deer’s feet.

Smeared Always Artichoke ink across the bottom of the card stock a bit lower than the Old Olive.

Die cut 2 Old Olive and 2 Always Artichoke Sizzlet Little Leaves using the Big Shot Machine.

Assembled the card by adding 2 Early Espresso panels and 1 Old Olive panel.  Adhered the leaves to the front of the card.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

Project Supplies:

Stamps: Stampin’ Up! Take Care (item #126312) and Nature’s Pace (item #122662)

Card Stock: Stampin’ Up! Whisper White, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black

Ink: Stampin’ Up!Baja Breeze, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo and Stazon Jet Black

Accessories: Stampin’ Up! Sponges, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Big Shot Machine, Adoring Acccent Edgelit, Basic Pearls, Basic Black Ribbon and Old Olive Marker

Sponged Tempting Turquoise ink on a 3″ x 4″ Whisper White card stock panel leaving a white spot.

Sponged Island Indigo ink to darken the one side.

Stamped the music note stamp from the Stampin’ Up! set Nature’s Pace using Baja Breeze ink.

Stamped the branch from the Stampin’ Up! Take Care set using Basic Black ink.

Added an 2 Island Indigo panels, 1 Basic Black panel, 1 Tempting Turquoise panel and a strip of Basic Black that was die cut with the Adoring Accents Edgelit and Big Shot Machine.  Added Basic Pearls and Basic Black Ribbon, 2 birds punched with the Stampin’ Up! Bird Punch.

Added a bit of Old Olive marker around the Leaves.

Here is the finished card measuring 5″ x 6.5″.

I’m now off to my garden to plant seeds, pull weeds and prepare the soil for these young seedlings I’ve been growing.  Anyone else have a table for seedlings going?

It’s important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so I am thrilled to share Stampin’ Up’s updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as I am by the new possibilities!

Why now? In 2010 Stampin’ Up! did a big color renovation and shared their plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep their colors on trend. Well it has been three years and I am excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! Stampin’ Up! is welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. Stampin’ Up! did anticipate increased demand and based their forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions. However, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone–including your own personal purchases. We encourage you to get your favorites and look forward to the exciting colors coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalog. And also announced today, free shipping is going on April 6-8, 2013, which would be a great time for you to get your favorites before they are gone! (Free shipping is for North America only.)
